DIGITAL COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST

The Digital Communications Specialist is an integral part of the Planning and Business Development team with primary responsibilities for the oversight and development of the Covenant website and employee intranet/portals. This position will interface with marketing and communications team, ad agency, administration, service/product line leaders, department directors and managers, and IT to educate the public and staff through digital channels, providing information in a professional and consumer friendly manner. This position will initiate, maintain, and monitor effective internet, portal and interactive strategies within budgets and time-lines. Additional responsibilities may include contributing to social media and digital communications channels. The Digital Communication Specialist will work within and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Maintains direct oversite, development, management, and evaluation of the Covenant HealthCare website, employee intranet, and physician portal.
In cooperation with the marketing and communications team, establishes internal and external interactive media content format standards (i.e. navigation, tone and appearance.)
Maintains a level of computer and technology literacy necessary to develop and implement upgrades and new features from conception through successful implementation.
Maintains proficiency in the use of the core website tools including content management system, website analytics and reports.
Partners with the Information Technology department and vendors to ensure effective planning, testing, implementation, functionality, maintenance, and security of web projects and applications, from conception through successful implementation.
Functions as the publisher for web and portal (written, visual and multimedia content), working in concert with content experts.
Ensures all internal and external portals are intuitive and easy to navigate.
Ensures accurate, updated, and timely content and links throughout the websites at all times.
Creates and implements appropriate internet, portal and interactive strategies in alignment with Covenant marketing and corporate communications needs.
Serve as a key member of the Covenant communications team and play an active role in the communication processes for the organization.
Develops and implements strategies to build website traffic, including SEO/SEM strategy, to convert visits into increased volume at Covenant facilities.
Develops and monitors website usage, traffic sources, links from other sites and other information as directed.
Works directly with other department personnel to maintain appropriate quality content, formats, linkages, branding and graphic identity for the website; training others as appropriate.
Provides support for social media and digital communications initiatives.
Works collaboratively with all team members and internal clients to increase integration and promotion of community outreach initiatives and community benefit efforts.
Participate in professional activities and maintain professional affiliations to keep abreast of trends/changes in the field.
Participate in departmental budget planning processes, evaluate current and proposed projects, monitor expenditure rates and make funding recommendations.
Provide support for special events and community relations programs provided by and/or sponsored by Covenant.
Provide ongoing support of other Planning and Business Development initiatives as directed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Web Design or related field required.
Minimum 3-5- years of experience in marketing or communications, website development/maintenance/strategies, e-communications or digital marketing required. Healthcare experience preferred.
Understands how to effectively utilize a website content management system and/or related digital platform. Practical experience in communication, web maintenance, social media, and administrative responsibilities.
Knowledge of HTML and CSS; or the aptitude to learn.
Self-motivated, analytical, and thoughtful with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to provide high quality work, meeting budgets and deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills.
Strong strategic and problem-solving skills.

Adobe Creative Suite abilities a plus, but not required.
